LaticsPete
We're nearly at the limit of what we can spend on players - need to shift some out or we may get an embargo on new ones. Apparently we had one earlier this year http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/88278/-latics-wary-of-transfer-embargo

HarryBosch
And Dougie Freedman has given us the go ahead to keep Connor Wilkinson beyond October 11th Then seemingly been sacked for it
Chaddy_Ender
Looks like the revenue from shirt sales may be missed then ? It doesnt stack up to me what about the transfer fees we have received in the past 12 month Baxter, Tarkey, Smith, JCH ? Coventry until recently operated on crowds of 1500 how do they get around this ?

Not sure about your first question, but I'd love to know about Coventry and how they kept within the limits based on those crowds. Their club shop must have been always well stocked with beach towels.

Those gates would probably not cover the rent paid for the ground, let alone paying the players. They will however sell thousands more shirts than we do, and other goods if they still have a shop in Coventry.

GlossopLatic
Anybody know who the striker is that we're looking to sign after the Posh game? Is their any life still in the ebanks Blake rumour or has that gone the same way as the porter rumour.
the_mighty_bosh
Having the transfer embargo in the early part of January isn't the worst thing in the world, especially when we had assets i.e. Tarky to sell.
bigfatjoe1
Brown, bove, turner & extend mellor That might help him win a few headers.
the_mighty_bosh
Also, aside from a striker, our squad is pretty settled at the moment so a transfer embargo shouldn't have too much of an impact. It isn't as though we require radical changes.

deyres42
Putting my cynical hat on, I'd say this and the stand statement is Corney's way of saying don't be expecting any signings.
blueatheart
Maybe because their new owners are putting lots of cash in?How does that fit into 'club turnover'? Stopping owners ploughing millions into clubs and then leaving is part of the FFP rules. Long 10k a week contracts have to been financially acceptable. There must be contracts in place for commercial revenue or something that will allow owners to do this now.

Not sure exactly how much it equates to but they did sell Moses Odubajo (sp?) to Brentford for £1m.

Gifts to the club are income....so is sponsorship by another company you might own ...more than one way to put money in if you own it.
