BP1960
"Meanwhile, striker Conor Wilkinson will return to Bolton after the League One game against Walsall on Saturday, when his one month loan spell ends". http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29551839
b0ndl1ne
Be very dissapointing if that is the case. You can tell that once he scores his first goal he'll go on a run. Personally I'd try and take him for the season
jsslatic
Confirmed on the Fishal. New man wants to take a look. LJ disappointed but would like him back along the line if possible. If Jabo doesn't impress then I expect we'll try and get Wilkinson back for the season in January.
BP1960
Or, if he goes under the radar at Bolton and doesn't get many games sign him permanently next season.

deyres42
A shame, you can tell he's got some quality about him.
jsslatic
seems a bit previous when they haven't appointed a new manager yet Fair. I've misquoted the following: The 19-year-old will be in Saturday's squad to face the Saddlers but will return to Bolton as their new manager assesses his side. Perhaps the caretaker/chairman is getting everybody back in anticipation. Perhaps Wilkinson has said he'd like to go back to try and impress. Chaddy_Ender
Good luck to the lad no doubt he has improved us and hopefully in the future we will see him again.
bigfatjoe1
Pity. Looks like he might be a class act. He has a quality about his play.
slystallone
He was starting to look decent - Tuesday he was a threat, and played well. That said, if we were still playing that game now, he still wouldn't have scored. There's always scope for a return in January, once Bolton's new man has had time to assess his full squad. Blue_Guru
So given we still have him for the Walsall game do we play him or not? My opinion is that he either: Gets a seat on the bench as we need to start adapting without him... or LJ may want Ibhere to have another week learning the style of play and getting to know his team mates and allow Wilkinson the chance to break his duck before he goes back? leeslover
IMO this shows the weakness of this type of loan. He didn't deliver for us the way we'd hoped but will go back to Bolton improved and ready to push on. It certainly confirms that if he'd knocked 5 goals in we wouldn't have seen him for dust. LaticsPete
But isn't that what we do with loans out ? And if Wilkinson had scored 5 goals that would have been great even if he was then whisked away. Not a perfect world I agree but..
HarryBosch
He's a striker. He hasn't scored.
BP1960
In some ways it might work out,if the new Bolton manager doesn't give Wilkinson a chance Latics are in prime position to bring him back, and if we can afford the fee then buy him. Simoncorneyisgod
^^^^^^^ in an ideal world!
BP1960
He's a striker. He hasn't scored. I prefer the description centre forward rather than striker Harry, it lends itself to a different type of player who in a more physical sense brings others into the game, but isn't usually a prolific goalscorer. beag_teeets
Wasn't he brought in when Forte got injured? We haven't lost in this time, we've won a few too. He's done a job for us and kept our momentum going, shame he didn't score and I bet he was as disappointed as we were when he missed the penalty the other night. True, if he'd scored 5 and gone I'd have shaken his hand and offered him a go on someone's sister, but with novices or unfit older types you are unlikely to see the best of them
Latics_Fanatic
Bolton announce Neil Lennon as their new manager. Might be keen on Wilkinson - was he keen on youth up at Celtic?
b0ndl1ne
We should definitely try to take him back and I think LJ will. It's a shame he has to go back as you can tell that now he's got his first that he would go on a run. yesterday's goal was a poachers goal from being in a good position in the box, not the type of goal I think many thought he'd break his duck with and that is a positive sign. Simoncorneyisgod
Bolton announce Neil Lennon as their new manager. Might be keen on Wilkinson - was he keen on youth up at Celtic? Lennon MUST have been offered a decent budget or lose I don't think he would have taken the job.......reckon this increases our chances of getting him back although I expect Notts County and Barnsley to be keeping tabs on him as well! b0ndl1ne
Nah he'd come back to us if anyone, seems to be well liked and looked to get on with everybody else on the field at least. We're only down the road from his parent club. Petrasso not coming back was understandable given he'd be based down sarf.
Simoncorneyisgod
I'd like to think so but his performances have definitely made a few in this division stand up and take note
