beag_teeets Posted October 10, 2014 Share Posted October 10, 2014 Good, I'm glad he didn't win and as rudemedic let's see him nominated a few more times this season. I'd like to see him win the League One manager of the season award after guiding us to promotion, no need for anything that could make us rest on our laurels just yet. The season is only into its third month and during those first two there were calls for LJ to be replaced, some were even serious. The direction of travel is currently promising but we aren't anywhere yet, let's leave the baubles for those that celebrate Christmas and the ned of the season, when they count. This season we've played against Seb Hines (Boro), Adam Legzdins and Nathan Clarke (Orient), Reece Wabara, Cedric Evina, Dean Furman and Richie Wellens (Doncaster), Alan Sheehan (Bradford), Steven Schumacher (Fleetwood) and Reece Brown (Barnsley). The burden of proof rests upon whoever is trying to prove the validity of the claim that winning Manager of the Month makes that team worse at football for the next game/next few games. Regardless, I would put forward the idea that the so-called curse rose to prominence because it is far more notable when a team loses following such an award. So even though it isn't a particularly common occurrence, the fact that people are more likely to mention a loss after the award than a win makes it seem like it happens more than it does.
