Stainrod
All quiet re this game on here. Expecting a win, if we have hopes of a top six finish (and why shouldn't we?) then we need to change draws into wins especially at home. Stating the obvious I know 2-0 to Latics. We need to win both this week to move our 'challenge' up a gear! In truth you couldnt ask for easier oppenents in their current form. Just lay off Stead on Saturday! HarryBosch
I always go straight in to night games and don't usually look forward to them all that much which makes me realise it's been all about the pub rather than the football for so many years now. Credit to LJ and the players for making me arsed about the match
rudemedic
Re the RRE: If home fans were being moved it would have been on the website and we'd have at least a 3 page thread about it on here. Neither has happened.
NewBlue
The manager is requesting 'one song per half' from each fan. I'm looking forward to this.
Simoncorneyisgod
Sky are reporting that Big George is back for this one! Strange not to hear it in the rarely wrong......I'll also be happier if Nouble and Reda Johnson don't play as they are 2 of their better players, every little helps Edited October 20, 2014 by Simoncorneyisgod

slystallone
I said ahead of last week, that the next 3 games (;as they were then) would be a real marker of exactly where we are as a side. Chesterfield are a well organised and set-up side, who play decent stuff and have the previous season's promotion momentum behind them. We got a cracking away point vs them, and played well. Coventry are one of the strange sides in our divison: on paper, they've got a very competitive starting X1, but i watched them on sky earlier on in the season, and they had several key players not playing; and their squad players / reserves didnt look upto much. They're not in the best of form either. It's a game we should - should - be looking at for 3 points if we seriously want to start looking even higher in the league. Bradford then comes, and again, it'll be a tough one. They're a minging side to play against, all long balls up to Hanson. But, they've Yeates, Clarke and Morais who can all cause a threat too. Again, if we're serious of doing anything other than the usual scrap with relegation, it's exactly the type of game we need to win. Come Saturday night, if we've taken 7 points from 9 from the 3 games; it's a huge statement of where we're heading. On this form - it's doable too. Good times... oafc-latics
With the way we're playing we've got to be looking at 2 wins. A win against Coventry and the Bradford game will be bouncing.

UpTheLatics
We're going into this as favourites and that makes me nervous. However, if we play like we have done during the last six or seven games we'll be too strong for a confidence-sapped Coventry. I haven't noticed much optimism from their supporters. We're heading into a key stage of the season. We have three home games out of the next four league fixtures. If we're serious about challenging - against all odds - this is a period where we can find ourselves in the top three or four should we claim, say, 10 points. Despite a fantastic start to the season, we've won four league games. A draw tonight would be a slight disappointment. I'd be delighted if we could win by more than a goal too. We've only done it once thus far. I'd consider a victory tonight one of the best results of the season. It would show we're capable of handling pressure which is still a doubt in my mind considering Scunthorpe and Walsall. Good luck lads. longtimeblue
If the wind tonight at BP is anything like it is in Salford at the minute, there's no way it will go ahead.
MAC0AFC
nothing but a win, and the wind should be a lot calmer come 7.45... won't get called off because of rain our pitch can handle rain nowadays!
TheBigDog
6 games in the next 26 days- four at home (possibly five if we come out of the bag first for the FA Cup round 1). Squad management essential - but big George back for the Bradford game, Kusunga to return as defensive option, Ibehre getting a lot of match time from the bench and Poleon continuing his improvement. The FA Cup and JPT can be used to give one or two fringe players some valuable game time - look at the impact that Tidser made against Barnsley for example. Bove and Turner surely must get a look in if they are to be impact players going forward. The time that Dieng has had will benefit him greatly and although he is essentially a midfield player, his stint at the back will stand him in good stead if needed again. oafcmetty
Last time we won three consecutive home league games? 9th August 2008 - Oldham 4-3 Millwall 23rd August 2008 - Oldham 4-0 Cheltenham 13th September 2008 - Oldham 2-0 MK Dons (with away wins at Leeds and Tranmere, and an away point at Col U sandwiched in between. Part of an 8 match unbeaten run to start the season, ruined by a 3-1 thumping at Stockport - thanks Dan Jones!)
blueatheart
If the wind tonight at BP is anything like it is in Salford at the minute, there's no way it will go ahead. Really? Gaz_Oafc
I'm in work (hospital) and the weather is awful. It will be a :censored: game if the weathers still like this (if its on)
oafc1955
Chron says B Wilson is a doubt, Kusunga in the frame to step in. It's a big loss as I think he's been a consistent performer in defence and has also looked a threat in the final third. Brown in for Wilson would be my choice but either of them are well capable of doing a job.
Chaddy_Ender
Kusunga before Brown every day of the week, Brown offers nothing in the final third, with conditions as they stand Kusunga aerial ability will come in handy tonight as well.
