BP1960
Maybe its time to stop pussyfooting around in home games and go for the jugular. Morgan-Smith, Ibhre and Forte if supplied with the ammunition should cause Crewe plenty of problems. Rachubka Kusunga Dieng J Wilson Mills (if fit - if not Mellor) Winchester Johnson Jones Forte Morgan-Smith Ibhre I know there is no holding midfielder as such, but go for it anyway. ShireBlue
Quite like that line up BP1960. Teams have recognised we don't play with much width and were easy to stretch. Get Forte back on the wing, AMS should be hungry to make an impact, and Dieng is competing for a starting spot. We have to go at Crewe, no question. the_mighty_bosh
I'd completely wipe the slate clean at the start of this week. Let the players earn their places by performing the best in training. Although I agree with an attacking strategy that pressures Crewe early and takes the game to them. NewBlue
Morgan-Smith and Ibehre up front together gives me shivers. That's a relegation front line rather than a play off one. It's certainly not one that's going to score goals. Edited December 21, 2014 by NewBlue
shefflatic
Rachubka Kusunga - B Wilson is slow and is an easy target, don't need any 'tactics' against us, just get down our right side...... Dieng J Wilson Mills Dayton Jones Tidser Johnson Philiskirk Forte Back to basics, Dieng back where he is at his best as was the back 5 against Sheff Utd - should NEVER have been broken up in the first place; they all did well, yet they still got dropped?!?! Unless Dayton has given LJ a flat tyre on his car, why he hasn't even featured as a sub in the past 2 months is staggering He deserves a start, albeit not match fit probably wont do him any favours, but has not done anything wrong in my opinion since he's been here. OK, not the most strong of players, but scored a belter at Swindon and always tries his best and does have some decent ability; no worse than anyone at this stage let's be fair. Johnson and a midfield 3 has disrupted us and left us too narrow and tippy tappy with no effect. Johnson terrorized us at Cfield playing left wing, let's put him there to get round the back and where he'll have more space. Tidser can do Kelly's role, as he should have done against Yeovil and as Poleon/Johnson should have done in the same game, none of this 'i had no choice but to change formation'?????........You did have a choice and it was simply to replace the 2 injuries with players in the squad LJ, not playing your dad at tactics........... When Kelly is back, him in for Tidser and let Jones free roam as he likes to do from the centre, Jabo brought on to hold it up when we're 2 up and see it out It's not THAT difficult Lee..... He has shown he can find the net in the past, albeit at a lower level. 2008–2010 Ilkeston Town 90 (34) 2010–2012 Luton Town 37 (14) In comparison Charlie Austin a player the same age who was also written off; 2007–2008 Hungerford Town 30 (5) Edited December 21, 2014 by BP1960

Won't read much into it considering the quality of opponents, although 1 in 4 at Kidderminster and 1 in 3 at Luton both in the Conference doesn't suggest he'll rip up any trees in League 1. He could be a Charlie Austin, who knows? I'm a massive advocate of scouting from the semi pros, but how many players that don't score frequently in non league can score goals 2 levels above? In fact the Austin example is totally misleading considering his exceptional record at Poole. From what I've seen AMS isn't going to be our complementary striker to Forte, and we know Ibehre never will.

NewBlue
Johnson is my kind of player but he doesn't work in this side 3 goals in 6, + assists, suggest he does and it's his teammates that need to improve. I really doubt dropping him for Winchester is going to turn it all around for us. That's not to say I don't think we shouldn't play Winnie, just not at the expense of Johnson, our best attacker along with Forte. I really doubt dropping him for Winchester is going to turn it all around for us. Johnson is probably our most talented player but, despite his impressive personal stats, we were doing better as a team before he arrived..... Suggestions he's upset the balance might be wide of the mark if there's something else at play behind the scenes but, we need to get back to being solid and dropping a luxury player like him could help us to do that... I attribute our form to the Bristol loss, not any specific player. We'd be worse off without Johnson - he's been the better performing Johnson or the two in the past month. The solidity we've lost is a result of Kelly, no Elokobi (and his loss of form since returning) and the goalkeepers' form. I'd be happy to play without a recognised striker to fit Winchester and Johnson in. Get rid of Ibehre. Chaddy_Ender
Think Winchesters one of them who fans love or hate but theres no doubt he was our best performer during our best run this season particularly at home, Johnson does add quality but at what expense ? We seem to have lost our shape to accomodate him and his work ethic which was demonstrated yesterday is shocking, the manager appears to have lost faith in 3 or 4 of his squad and that cant be great for team morale neither. Rachubka, Dayton and Winchester can all consider themselves unfortunate to be the fall guys , all three played their part in one of our most successful starts in years but for whatever reason their faces dont seem to fit. Ritchierich
I'd play anyone who didn't play at Franchise Ok, maybe we'll have to let a few of those muppets back in but I seriously hope Kenny is not in goal and that Kusunga is not in the line up, if they are, I am pretty confident we'll lose

Neither the club nor this board even nominated Carl for Player of the Month for October or November, our best form of the season. Our start to the season was pretty dire, which is the time you're referring to him as our best player. I am a big fan of Winchester and want him included in the team but he was Player of the Month in a month we didn't win a game.

They dont watch the same games as me, I think Winchester has been very unfortunate this season by far our best player at times, granted he frustrates at times but dont all flair players ?I think the biggest part of that arguement for me is that he's been our best player at times. Now, i've not been to every single game, but i've attended every home game. Winchester brings a different element to the game, however, there is inconsitency in his game. Some games he's outstanding, others and personally i'd argue the majority just mediocre. I don't think there's been many times this season where i've sat and thought "wow, what a player." I also don't think he helps the shape of the team, a point which i've made in the past. Much the same as Daniel Johnson. Just my opinion. He's a good, tidy player... However, to move to the next level, the consistency in performance has to be realised. Edited December 22, 2014 by Latics_Fanatic
