Hands on
Absolutely jinx alert. Fortunately it wouldn't be a team in the bottom five!

Clifford
Flip it the other way sheff utd, Preston, Swindon and mk dons would love to get us. Don't fancy we could do any of those over 180 mins.
Corazzin19
We are losing more games now than at the start of the season but also winning more. Draws are no good now so win 9 lose 8 and I think we will do it

Looking at last few seasons we need to be mid / high 70s if possible. Edited February 11, 2015 by Clifford
Corazzin19
I know but we are currently 5th with 43 points, in the championship and league 2 that would get us nowhere near the playoffs. It looks like this year will be the lowest points total needed for a while to sneak 6th
gbium
70 points has not been good enough for years and years. We need more than that. Looking at last few seasons we need to be mid / high 70s if possible. Last 10 years - final play off place (oldest first) 71 71 75 (damn Blackpool) 76 76 80 71 73 74 74 So we can probably safely predict it'll be somewhere between 71 and 80 - usually low to mid 70s
maddog
But this is a freak season. This is not any of the last 10 seasons. Or any other. This is just this season. In isolation. The number of points we need to get into the play offs will be....more than another 18 teams in the league. No more definable than that. pk200
One side always comes out of the pack and makes playoffs for me this season it will be Walsall.
rudemedic
Fleetwood- Imagine the scenes in that Terrace for a play-off semi, plus we've done the double over them. Rochdale- Absolute carnage, plus we've sparked them at their place already. MK Dons- Each club gets a cut of the combined gate receipts- so you aren't giving them money, you are contributing to our cut. Plus no doubt they might come closer to filling that stadium which is 3x bigger than it needs to be. Bradford- Similar ground benefits, local game, easy to get too, even from London. Sheff United- Sheffield Tap Preston- Lancashire Derby Swindon- 4 points out of 6 Bristol City- they won't be allowed to limit our seats to a measly 490 without some retribution. The cider too. What I'm trying to say predicting who we play in the play-offs is useless in Feb, let's get there, or actually let's not need them first. If we get there then are positives to any one we can play
Forte_Baby
We never beat MK Dons so I definitely don't want them. Swindon would be tough too, other than those I don't fear anyone. I have MK Dons play offs different cattle of fish remember Cardiff City hadnt beaten Bristol City for a long time but beat them in the play offs. Saying that we havent lost to Bradford for a while (excluding that friendly) so it could go against us. Midsblue
If we're anywhere above 6th come May and after 46 games then I'll start talking the Plays-Offs...only then
whitey1980
Did you not watch the second half of last night? I wouldn't fancy us against that for 2 games. Just a note on Swindon..... Their sole defensive tactic to a breaking runner was to bring down the player. It should have led to a red card after 30 minutes and given the volume of bookings he may not have been alone. There were acres of space left in behind their full backs that on another day would have led to more than the many chances we created. We have been better in possession of the ball than we were last night and could easily have punished them more effectively. We would have done if Wilkinson would have stayed on the pitch!! In addition they were indulgent and a little arrogant with the ball that led to them wasting many promising positions without a decent effort on goal. They looked a decent outfit for sure.....but don't forget that by their managers estimation that was the best they had played all season for an hour. ......and just like us at Preston last year when we felt we produced a similar type of performance, they lost!! Spot on. They rode their luck with cynical fouls. We won enough against the odds in center mid to keep them worried. They'll always threaten playing like that but there will always be room to make chances. Johnson and his players did a number on them. HarryBosch
Did you not watch the second half of last night? I wouldn't fancy us against that for 2 games. The more I read about how good they were the more I think they should be promoted straight to the Premier League and given a bye to the Champions League final. RobOAFC
Did you not watch the second half of last night? I wouldn't fancy us against that for 2 games. No I didn't. But the fact is that over two games we've drawn and beaten them.
HarryBosch
Just enjoy our best season in ages and dream we can stay where we are or better - you won't turn into a pumpkin if it goes tits up but you might well get hit by a bus tomorrow. help_shiny
we might finish 5th.We might finish 6th.We might finish 12th I'd say odds still against playoffs & if we do make them we will lose in the semi finals just like we always do (1990 League Cup excluded). So just enjoy your footy & don't get too emotionally invested in potential success as you'll just have your heart ripped out. We're NOT going up & will stay in this division until an asteroid destroys civilisation (or we go bust, same thing really) edit - interesting that "we're not going up" comes out as "we're going up" even after edit.A sign from the Football Gods? It's our year after all, yay Edited February 11, 2015 by help_shiny
