BP1960
He received his first call up for the Lithuanian national football team for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match against England, but FIFA did not allow Cohen to play for Lithuania. http://www.soccerladuma.co.za/news/articles/categories/south-africa/larry-cohen-will-not-be-making-his-lithuanian-debut-at-wembley/204955 Edited July 5, 2015 by BP1960

He is to start tomorrow at Latics. Journalist also said he's 'Tough tackling, great work ethic, good on the ball' and spent time at Spurs early in his career. Also comfortable in centre mid. rudemedic
So what standard is the South African top tier the equivalent off he looks technically great on that video Overall, League 2/ Conference at best I would say. They have some very good players, but they tend to move on quickly. He might prove to be a useful defender at our level though.
BP1960
Who was our last player to play in the South African Premier league?
Bristolatic
Always difficult to judge a player on a 10 minute video because they tend to only show the good bits. However, some of those tackles are brilliantly timed, and they had to be too. It also looks like he can mix his game up with long and short passes, good strong headers and just get rid when necessary. Definiteley worth a shout IMO. Agreed, just heard he's 6' 1" not 5' 8" as rumoured.
NewBlue
Had a trial at Brentford in the past. Gaz_Oafc
News reaching the Siya crew is that English League One side, Oldham Athletic, won't be signing former Moroka Swallows defender, Larry Cohen. The crew revealed that the 27-year-old began a short trial with the League One outfit, as he continues to search for a new club. However, his trial has now been brought to an end and Oldham have decided against signing Cohen. It has been indicated to the crew that Oldham's budget meant that they couldn't take on more than one defender and Cohen has been allowed to leave. That's a bit worrying given that we've lost a couple of centre backs, having been very stretched at the end of last season, and we're only able to bring one defender in as replacement. It's not even like any of our full backs can play centre half like Grounds had done when we were running low in the position, and Dieng isn't necessarily primarily a centre back either. Imminent centre back signing according to Matt Chambers on twitter.

MAC0AFC
Why do a lot of people keep writing Dieng off? As has been mentioned by a few posters on here before the partnership between Wilson/Dieng was brilliant and it was only getting stronger before Johnson wanted to bring in hoof merchant and no footballing ability George Elokobi back into the team. oafc1955
That's more than likely bollocks, Kelly himself said we were looking to sign at least 3 including a keeper. Why take him in the first place.... My guess would be that more than likely he wasn't suitable!
yarddog73
Wilson, Dieng, Edmundson and one quality signing is enough for starters, I would much rather we keep the squad intact than have to sell a player to finance a couple of signings, there will be opportunties to bring in a loan or two if need be. I'm not writing him off but I'm not faithful enough to rely upon him either. He looked shaky on the few occasions I saw him at centre back, and although the context of him being a young guy in a new country etc. are brought up, which are totally understandable, I don't think him and Edmundson, who nobody truly knows whether he can perform in this league, is sufficient back-up.
