Blue_Guru
All fitting into place now...as poor as DK was this was a sly move...can't imagine Dunn was brought here other than with the dangling carrot of management. DK will have known this.
blueatheart
I quite like player managers...
Wardie
I wonder just how long this "interim" period will last. As fans, we need a full, detailed statement from the club as to their plan of action in replacing Kelly...and by that, I don't mean some half-witted, condescending clap-trap from Owen. I doubt very much that will happen, though.

singe
How many games will he get? Do we ever learn? At least he fits the template better though. It's a bit if a mess.
archiecat
Senior pro, not Dean Holden and an interim appointment ! Anyway, i am on holiday for the next 2 games, he may be fired by the time i return.
Blue_Guru
His ability to bring immediate success will ultimately determine his future with us... He was clearly the back up plan, now they will be starting to find a new back up plan for Dunn. This all suggests to me the whispers going round about a possible early sacking at the start of the season must have been true...for this to be the case and Dunn brought in DK must have dropped some seriously basic clangers
laticsmarra
So we aren't seeking applications but have appointed an interim manager ?

Chris Richard
I can't see it being a long period if the Neil Redfearn sightings are true. I would be very disappointed if it was for a longer period.
oafcprozac
Sneak him in through the back door and keep clueless Deano alongside dithering with :censored: phrases like 'interim' offers no continuity. The preferred candidates are out of work we don't need any interim bull:censored: grow a pair and give it Redders or Shez instead you're going to see crowds drop further what a bunch of clueless amateurs we have running our once fantastic football club. There's no interim about it he's got the job and it was planned all along. If I was Darren Kelly if be looking to see if there's any legal angle here....it :censored:ing stinks the way this has been handled.
singe
So we aren't seeking applications but have appointed an interim manager ?it's Latics, always more questions from am answer. There will be a statement about this statement clarifying that they are preparing another statement.
Dave_Og
Well done to whoever else it was that burned the midnight oil crafting the finer nuances of that statement.
andyhigginsoafc
As bad as Kelly was, its clear whatever he did, he never stood a chance,
sjk2008
Redfearn will be going to Doncaster. I'm a bit miffed, again, at this decision. Whilst I was delighted to see Kelly binned, it now looks an extremely sly process by Corney & Co, as its clear Dunn was brought in with a view to taking over. I feel a little sorry for Kelly now. oafcprozac
The first thing is he needs to get himself a pair of shorts that fit, and drop himself as he's not match fit and Is Nowhere near. But it's his ball now and he strikes me as one that'll take it home. As BB80 said divide and conquer more polarisation of the fan base our board really are that oblivious to their cock ups.... Keeping your striker as a CM whilst benching your best CM is worse. Dropping an in form CB for a nervous kid just cos he plays for c*ltic is stretching things. Leaving out your player of the year. Having a Dave Penney like demenour on the touchline. Good riddance you absolute dense pile of wank.

oafcprozac
Tranmere messed about taking punt after punt - Barnes, McAteer, Parry, thought they could save a few quid binning Ronnie and bringing a rookie in. How did that work out? That's the path we are going down....
super_blue
I think the players will be happy with this option. A lot of respect in the changing room for Dunn and the lads believe it or not are fans of Holden! Now let's see them step up and play to their abilities and prove its a good move! Simoncorneyisgod
DK has well and truly been thrown under the bus here. Dunn's appointment doesn't seem to be a short term fix and it certainly rules Redfearn out as the sensible thing to do if the club were looking for a permanent manager in place would be to hand the keys over to TP
