bigfatjoe1
Let's not have a bun fight about it. Close your cake-holes. Frankie is welcome back. This could be the icing on the cake. He could certainly improve the currant situation. He'll earn his bread and butter.
LaticMark
It's not a bunn deal yet! The 2 sides haven't agreed on how much bread he'll get. If they can't agree, following a frank discussion, the deal could be toast.

bozman
Interesting line in today's Chron: "Athletic want to appoint a manager who will be welcomed by supporters, mindful of the supporters' derision that greeted the news that fan's favourite Sheridan had elected to drop down a division to take on the job at Meadow Lane" Does Bunn fit the bill ? Obviously those of us old enough to remember his time here as a player will have fond memories of that, but that doesn't necessarily translate to wanting him in as manager. The poll on this site listed 8 more popular choices for the job. Whilst recognising he has a very good reputation at youth level and would, no doubt, be inclined to bring our younger players through wherever possible, his lack of first team management experience and questions over his knowledge of the division and players available would concern me. HarryBosch
he has a very good reputation at youth level and would, no doubt, be inclined to bring our younger players through wherever possible, Not a pop at you but something along these lines often gets said about successful Youth team coaches moving up.... Does it necessarily follow that such a man brings more kids through than an experienced first team manager? Maybe part of the reason he's applied is because he doesn't want to deal with kids anymore. Developing young players and putting your neck on the line by filling your first team with them are two very different things.

Fair point which, if the case, makes his lack of experience of first team management even more of a concern for me.

If he gets it it wouldn't fill me with confidence but you never know. Hopefully we'll get an actual proper manager like Shez again.
