HarryBosch
In my opinion Dunn is now our manager on a permanent basis but some still seem to think we might appoint someone else, eg Redfearn... What do you reckon?

palmer1
Why interim? why not caretaker? Interim does suggest it's until someone else is found but how many clubs appoint an interim manager and then won't accept applications? sjk2008
Whilst I hope it is interim, it's smells to fishy where Dunn is concerned. I still can't fathom how monumentally inept our board are at times. This whole thing is a joke.

Nigel Smith
Interim : relating to less than a full year's business activity.
Twisbrogan
It's interim in the same way that all managers are interim. Maybe it's only been called that to calm all those precious dears on here & Twitter that are so morally outraged about it.

Markspark92
Dunn will pick himself to play every week he doesent seem to be the type of guy who wants to be stood on the touch line, I don't think this will work and I hope a permanent more suitable replacement is found soon as possible. Hopefully Redfearn being there twice is because he's in for the job

singe
I think just seeing how it goes. Let's hope for a Grant McCann-esque start.
beag_teeets
Interim gives the club the flexibility to bin him off if it isn't working out, probably a smart move given the circumstances.
NewBlue
He's interim in exactly the same way that Kelly was interim Start winning and he stays, lose and he goes
deyres42
I'm not sure, perhaps they want to see how it goes for a few weeks, don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
tony4938
Maybe it due to his coaching badges, as unless he has achieved his A license, then he is not allowed to manage permenantly.
rudemedic
Someone mentioned a highly plausible reason why Dunn is only interim- he doesn't yet have the requisite coaching badges to be "permanent". There are clear regulations for managers in the English football pyramid- Dunn doesn't quite reach the level required. There is also an employment law standpoint, you can't employ a manager when the previous manager is still in his notice period and the appropriate negotiations haven't been completed yet. Dunn is studying for his Pro license so we can rule the first one out. Don't think I've ever seen the second stop a club appointing a new manager immediately. Chris Richard
Depends on our board's definition of 'interim'. Holden was 'interim' for 15 games. If the club statement is anything to go by, we aren't taking applications which means that. A)Dunny IS our going to be our full time manager after an (ahem) 'interim' period but the board don't want to admit this to us fans at the moment because they don't want to piss us off further or they can't say otherwise because Kelly could come back to bite them. Or Somebody has ALREADY been appointed in anticipation of Kelly not working out. I guess we won't ever know exactly what's going on. blueatheart
Pretty sure the badge thing only applies to the prem too.
dec666
Pretty sure the badge thing only applies to the prem too. You need an A license to manage a first team or academy at a professional football club. Pro license is required for the Premier League. Kusunga_Is_God
The whole secrecy is paramount the fans are pigs and should not know a thing.Latics, simple question... Is he permanent or not? If not are we looking for someone else? Thanks Edited September 13, 2015 by Kusunga_Is_God
NewBlue
I'd not subscribed wholly to this secrecy idea Kusunga has been talking about, but this is a strange situation. Why should the fans have to try to decode a cryptic message once again from the club? His exit was clearly premeditated so I don't believe for a minute the club weren't prepared for what would come next.
