SavageTheBeast
He can't be any worse than that donkey Stankevicious. Hopefully he will turn out like Derbyshire did when nobody rated him at forest

Stagger Lee
OAFC material for sure - has spent a night in jail - Nice one Barry! We have been trying to sign a Sheff utd player with jail experience for some time now Welcome Michael Higdon to the Strangeways Hotel / Ice station Zebra
marhar
Comments from a Sheff Utd supporting mate... "Good god - :censored:e. Sounded great when he joined, scored plenty in Dutch prem - looks unable to move now. When he does move he'll commit horrific fouls." And they don't love him for that?? NewBlue
Michael Higdon is a superb signing. Strong, clever and has goals as well - very good at this level but held back by injuries last couple of seasons. Hats off to Dunn for that one. Really, very pleased with that. sjk2008
What's the difference between a loan and an "emergency loan"? "Emergency" is only used when involving Oldham, because every loan signing we make smacks of "emergency".

bigfatjoe1
Good signing. Just what we need. One of our greatest ever strikers was signed from Sheffield United.
ghostofcecere
Glowing reference from my Sheff Utd supporting colleague Aberdeen fans must wonder why Oldham fans said Adam Rooney is total :censored:e.
losesome
What's the difference between a loan and an "emergency loan"? A loan is when you sign somebody you have been after and can hopefully improve your squad. An emergency loan is when he is the only player left who is willing to sign for you !! rudemedic
What's the difference between a loan and an "emergency loan"?Serious answer- time of year. Emergency loans cover the loan window, but not in the transfer window. Loans are only those for the transfer window and are usually longer (half/full season). Emergency loans are for a maximum of 93 days.
PlayItLivo
If he was in form at the moment we wouldn't be signing him. The fact that he has a proven goal scoring record which is fairly consistent and still fairly recent, is probably better than what we would have expected. The alternative is an unproven kid who could go either way, but usually the :censored: way for us. So I'm pretty happy with this. mickjagger
So did Dunn do correct to ship Turner & Murphy out to bring Michael Higdon in?
welshgaz
So did Dunn do correct to ship Turner & Murphy out to bring Michael Higdon in? Time will tell. I was against shipping Turner out but on the face of it this is good business.
ChaddySmoker
So did Dunn do correct to ship Turner & Murphy out to bring Michael Higdon in? Only if he sends back Stan as well!
HarryBosch
Let's be honest, if he was any good Sheff United wouldn't be letting him go... (Not that i'm writing him off already...) Have you seen how many forwards they've got? He must be 6th in the pecking order and is unlikely to develop further at 32. A good chance this could be made permanent in January provided he doesn't do TOO well Edited September 23, 2015 by HarryBosch
Latics_Fanatic
Have you seen how many forwards they've got? He must be 6th in the pecking order and is unlikely to develop further at 32. A good chance this could be made permanent in January provided he doesn't do TOO well I haven't. I remember before the season started a few on here were certain that Higdon would be a big player for them this season... Hopefully he'll be a big player for us too, and not in the Dean Windass definition of big.
OAFCM35
Higdon is just what we need strong, experienced and has decent goal scoring record (Derbyshire springs to mind) if it's just until Cassidy is fit.. Fine! If there's a chance of something more longterm.. Even better! The fact Sheff Utd fans don't rate him doesn't concern me, he was never going to be anything but a bit part player there. Heard the Ricardo Fuller rumour earlier not sure what to make of that.
