deyres42
I say - new owners, minimal debt, crowds at around the 6000 mark, maybe not Championship but at least a couple of serious promotion pushes.

Stagger Lee
if it had gone ahead we would still be waiting for the last stand to be built
piglinbland
If we had gone ahead the 'Failsworth Stadium Construction Thread' would have been the longest thread in internet history.
NewBlue
Perhaps better on the pitch, as TTA might still be here and the boost of a new stadium does exist, but long-term City have become better (and would be nearer), and FC United would be providing cheap football on your doorstep, plus losing those supporters who wouldn't be able to make it there easily. GlossopLatic
Don't know. I was one of those who would have gone along with it. But because it was too divisive amongst the fans and for that reason I'm glad it didn't. The Oldham arena on the other hand.....
RoytonLatics
I'd have much preferred sports park 2000...
adamoafc
Think we would have had less fans than we do now! The amount of people who kicked off about it was massive. That's oafc fans for you moan about the everything which isn't considered 'the norm'

Oh Heck C-Beck
I think a new stadium would have given the club a fresh start it desperately needs. I don't think The Failsworth site was that far away from BP, so couldn't see us loosing too many life long fans.
OAFCM35
Once the inevitable moaning had been done and a few stay aways had found a new excuse not to fork over their hard earned cash, the regulars will of stayed, I don't think many Failsworth locals would be attending until there is cheap tickets on offer. BP would of been turned in to nice lovely houses 3 bed, 4 bed ideally located to the motorway for those who work out of town, The TTA will of made there mint and sold the club to who ever was interested. After that who knows... promotion? relegation? administration?
beag_teeets
I live in Bury, they could have put the ground in Ashton, Shaw, Saddleworth or wherever and it wouldn't matter as I drive to the games anyway. Glad it isn't Shaw though.

Yes, It would have been like opening a Corner shop next to a Megastore and an Aldi,Business Suicide. Would rather we moved to Ashton than down there
beag_teeets
In these times of internet shopping it doesn't matter where your shop is. If the product is one that people want then they will travel for it.

If the product is one that people want then they will travel for it... And if it's not they won't. And if they can buy a similar product, or better, for a cheaper price they will go there instead. Monty Burns
We were moving from one end of a road to the other. Litterally. Anyone who was going to bin us off based on that isn't really a Latics fan.
Chris Richard
Financially worse off as wouldn't it have been that Koukash bloke in charge who is in the process of going bust?

yarddog73
Financially worse off as wouldn't it have been that Koukash bloke in charge who is in the process of going bust? Koukash has got plenty, not saying we would be better off with him as he has a tendancy to throw his toys out of the pram but we certainly wouldn't be poorer.
