super_blue
The BP floodlights were on at 7:00pm today. Any theories why? Being tested due to essential repairs that had to be made to bring them up to league standard.

You missed out that even in the lifetime of some posters on here it used to snow every winter. A lot. If you ask BP nicely, he can probably regail you about the time they had to dig trains out of the snow ont Pennines.
Monty Burns
Just for clarification, global warming denying is the ultimate sign of being a complete tool. However, Claiming that it is caused by people nipping to the shops in their cars is of equal indication.

mickjagger
Pitch 3 or 4 years past it's sell by date, raising funds for a scoreboard seems ludicrous bearing in mind the state & age of the pitch. How much does a new pitch cost?

How much does a new pitch cost? I read somewhere on the board for the one we have now that is past its best is around £800,000/£1 million. I'm sure whoever posted elsewhere will correct me if wrong! I'm sure whoever posted elsewhere will correct me if wrong! That is a serious amount of money, i cannot envisage the club having the funds to replace the pitch for next season, so the groundsmen are going to have a thankless task. Magister
Costing Wigan £125000 to relay this week
super_blue
Costing Wigan £125000 to relay this week I get the impression that is a short term fix to see out the season. The one we have/ideally replace is the one with the fibres sewn into it that has a 10yr shelf life. Wigan will re do it again at the end of the season again I reckon. Not enough time for the long term fix for them so this is short term I reckon.
