super_blue
Secrecy, fans must know nothing. Check the web site again and it shows updates on the wall. The club has posted in Twitter and it's linked to the main page as live updates! Edited February 6, 2016 by super_blue
LaticMark
I heard from a reasonable source that, as with all other things at Latics, cost-cutting measures came in. A certain director was named as having to approve any spend by the groundsman. Even down to the odd bag of fertiliser. As with anything else - if you don't invest then the quality deteriorates. Not having a dig, but they should tell the ground staff to fork off.
philliggi
For me the football league need to intervene and put a 12 o clock deadline on it for postponements. Earlier for long distance games. Does nothing for fans this messing about. Even though blackpool is local most will set off from there well before 20 past
BP1960
No update on official site. Nor on Blackpool's, are all the FL sites operated by the same webmaster? Edited February 6, 2016 by BP1960
mickjagger
Two games cancelled at home now so cost cutting measures on the pitch have actually cost us money in terms of lost revenue due to postponements.
Kusunga_Is_God
says it all when ex-brew maker, reserve goalkeeper warm up specialist billy quarmby was relegated to 'Assistant groundsman' wtf

The board will have a good excuse if we are relegated, three games a week tired out the players.
GlossopLatic
Some times I do worry about the prospect of fan ownership but when you look on this website and see so many business experts and so many expert Groundsman we have nothing to fear and it will basically be a one way ticket to the champions league. We will never have to postponed game again. Edited February 6, 2016 by GlossopLatic

Does nothing for fans this messing about. Even though blackpool is local most will set off from there well before 20 past 1 But what if the pitch is playable at 12 o'clock and then unplayable by 3pm...? ChaddySmoker
Can't be great psychologically for the players to see themselves further adrift of rivals. But it is better than playing and losing

Surely they'll have insurance in place to cover any losses in these circumstances? Get down to the ground, they might be handing free pies out to the long suffering? bigfatjoe1
It's been pissing down for months. Worst ever. The ground is saturated. It's never had chance to dry out. Additional heavy rain makes a waterlogged pitch inevitable. Why is this anyone's fault? Some very angry people looking to take out their frustrations on all club related issues. Bring back the plastic.
