ShireBlue
We're going to finish 15th again, aren't we?
ChaddySmoker
It's going to be fine. Hope we lose tomorrow, should put a couple of hundred on saturdays gate and give it a bit of atmosphere. Spoilt your wish. Safe now, simples!
sjk2008
We'd be 7th Seriously, only 7th? Saw a table comparison earlier which shows us picking up 30pts in the last 17 games - which equates to 81pts over the season. That's automatic material. Simpo
League table at it's most doomed-looking state, after defeats in Sheridan's first two games in charge: Same points as Crewe there, currently 20 points ahead of them. 15 points behind top-half (!) Doncaster, now 8 ahead. A 23 point swing. 8 points off safety, now 6 points clear. A win on Saturday guarantees safety due to Blackpool and Fleetwood playing each other. If we win, at least one of those two teams cannot catch us. A draw is also enough if Blackpool lose.

I live very close to their stadium, word is they'll end up with Chris Wilder from Northampton because Southend want too much compensation. Can't wait to walk to an away game. OldhamSheridan
What's boltons financials actually like now? Surely it hasn't just gone away! NB. More chance of rocking horse :censored:e as us being relegated now.

More chance of rocking horse :censored:e as us being relegated now. No mammoth debts, but silly £15,000-18,000 a week contracts still knocking about. Decent crowds for L1. But I was also surprised about compo being an issue. Maybe they think it isn't worth it rather than not affording it. Agree 51 is probably enough, but the job's not done til it's done, and it'll be good to make it official!
Scapegoat
Don't count chickens. Celebrate when it is absolutely certain and not before. Great set of results tonight and hopefully come 5pm on Saturday we will clear. Mid fifty points and 15th/16th. Standard since Shez was last here. Since 2 games after Shez took over (after 26 games with 21 points) we've played 17 games and got 30 points (43 games and 51 points). That means an average of 30/17 = 1.764705882352941 points per game. Multiply this by 43 games (if we had kept this form up all season) and we would currently lie in 3-4th (depending on Walsall's result in their game in hand). It is roughly 50% more points achieved in 50% less games than previous two managers combined. From 2nd bottom to third = some improvement under Shez. The debt they owe Eddie Davies has gone the trouble is they have the likes of Jay Spearing on £18k per week and Mark Davies on £25k a week who have another 12 months on their contracts Holdsworths takeover ensures they can be paid for the next 12 months. The trouble is all this money is borrowed so they won't necessarily be big hitters next season and may yet take a little longer before the problems bottom out there. And there is also an issue with some fairly substantial debts to agents that have been deemed to be directly football related, contrary to their new owners expectations, meaning they will have to be repaid in full. BBC (radio Manchester) reported last week that Wilder is expected to be announced as their new manager at the end of the season.
Monty Burns
who was it said in the Chron when Shez first arrived that "if he keeps Oldham up from the position they are in now - it will be his greatest ever achievement" ? No idea, but they were talking absolute drivel.

mikeroyboy
We've got 3 match points on our own serve after coming back from 2 sets down and 5-0 down in the third set. We were almost out for the count. I don't imagine anyone better suited than John Sheridan for getting our club out of the hole we were in. An out of contract experienced defender, 4 unknown to most of us loanees who transformed us throughout the side. And not forgetting the excellent Peter Shirtliff as defensive coach. Almost there.
