oafc_lover
So presuming we do let Brown go which is looking the case, we have Cassidy who couldn't score at L2 level, Murphy who has proved he isn't cut out at this level (albeit hasn't been given a proper run in the side) and Edmundson who look fairly promising but has made only 3 senior appearances. Exciting times ahead!

BP1960
Seems like Corneys conducting a fire sale, I wonder if there's a new owner on the horizon who is insisting on a clean sheet before taking over?
Crusoe
Why would a new owner want us to get rid of players good and bad? (bad ones, sure, but why good ones?)

BP1960
Why would a new owner want us to get rid of players good and bad? (bad ones, sure, but why good ones?) To reduce debts and start afresh.
Crusoe
I get the reducing debts bit, but surely it'd be better to sell higher, or hold on to the good ones to maximise their future value? Starting afresh means putting together a new squad from scratch and hoping they turn out alright.
Horlicks
No players to pay over the Summer then pick up the waifs and strays just before the season starts, it is a model that worked well for Blackpool.

BP1960
No players to pay over the Summer then pick up the waifs and strays just before the season starts, it is a model that worked well for Blackpool. In the 1950s Stanley Matthews then a full England international at Blackppol once asked to be paid during the summer, only to be told by the Chairman "You don't play for us in the summer so we dont pay you in the summer"..so Matthews had to look around for part time non football work until the season started. Maybe not always the good old days.

NewBlue
If we were entering a five-a-side league with our contracted players, who would you play and where would you play them? Kelly at the back. He'd be that dirty shinpadless defender on the piss since afternoon that all the pretty boys up front would :censored: getting near to. Edmundson could be nurtured by Kelly in the other spot. Byrnes (that lad drafted in at the last minute only your mate has ever seen play) centre mid and hope he's half decent. Murphy up top. Scratch that: Winchester centre mid or we upgrade to 6-a-side. Cassidy in net. Where else do you put the team donkey?
