Chris Richard
I think we'll struggle for the first 5-10 games. In some cases, I think we'll get seriously turned over but we'll steadily improve, enough to see us scrape into mid table obscurity by the end of the season. ChaddySmoker
Makes them look even worse then... Even though I predict us to go down. You slag them off for believing what you also think will happen? I struggle to understand your logic.
ChaddySmoker
Mods - can you delete this post please? Far too optimistic. Thanks. Yeah but it's funny as hell
Monty Burns
Ripley should be better than recent keepers Kettings has looked better back up than his record suggested he would be in friendlies. Law & Reckord look steady at worst & one or both could actually be quite good. Law will score or create a few with his free kicks. Clarke will be quality and misses fewer games than most his age. Burgess should be good. Edmundson will be pushing for a place at CB or RB. Wilson will do a job when called on. I've seen worse prospects than Stott. Mantack looks more likely to get some game time than recent youth products. Gerrard will probably come crawling back again at some point. Green, Banks & Flynn are all experienced and should perform well over the course of a season meaning we just need one or more of Croft, Klok, Fane, Winchester or Woodland to come good and we'll be decent in midfield. Mckay should score at least 10 to 12 and could well score more. Erwin is experienced and big and the ball should stick with him. He's scored a few previously in his career so no reason he won't for us. Osei looks like he could be a real find. Cassidy - miracles can happen Plus we'll still sign more players over the course of the season. Plus we have our biggest & most experienced coaching team in years. I don't see us going down at all... Don't think I've ever agreed with something so much in my life.
tGWB
You don't have to be a football genius to work this one out In our 20th Season in the same League, its highly likely we will start the 2017/18 Season again in League One Late push for the play offs hopefully, but despite the obvious strength of our new management team, I suspect it will be at the lower end of the table again Edited August 4, 2016 by tGWB

LaticsEddie
Interesting, although uninspiring from our point of view, preview piece in the Coventry telegraphhttp://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/league-one-201617-season-preview-11698241 75% reckon were gonners... Decent set up, manager knows how to win, pretty well equipped to bounce back. Bradford. Reckon McCall will do a job here, Parkinson has left a good set up. Shouldn't mess around with it too much. Sheff Utd. They've got to, eventually? Milwall. Lost a couple of players, but Morrison and Gregory up top are goals. Dale. Reckon this is their last chance before the squad splits up and/or Hill leaves. Bottom 4: Vale, Bury, Fleetwood and Shrews Latics position: 16th. We'll be fine. OAFC Top scorer: hasn't been signed yet. OAFC POTY: This is it. This the year. #CW10 starts every game, creates hundreds of chances and scores loads of screamers. He gets a call up to the Northern Ireland squad after Robbo gives Michael O'Neill a call, and he leads them to the top of qualification for Russia. Or it'll be Clarke for organising. And Klok will get the fans' one. OAFC YPOTY. Hope Edmundson gets his chance. Think we might not actually see that much of Mantack when the season gets going. L1 Top scorer. Ajose. Followed by Simon Cox. Miscellaneous: Ched Evans to score 10-12 goals. Robinson to still be here in May. Shez and Notts County not to be promoted. Cassidy to score fewer than 2. Klok to be sent off twice. A mixed bag, here... my #CW10 prophecy didn't come to fruition (yet). Seems there was lots of support for Coventry and Charlton back in July. Also the view that Mckay would bag loads (lol) and that Reckord was actually competent.

Open Play - 18 Penalties - 1 Other Set-Pieces - 9 Own Goals - 3 3 of the set pieces were direct goals (Law x2, Banks x1). Some are difficult to definitely put in one category - eg Erwin's vs Fleetwood. I put that as open play, even though I think it stemmed from a Ripley free-kick. singe
I cannot do forecasting of a Latic's season, too much changes-except the end position- so hats off to those that had a go, but it's funny to see some of the views. I like the ones that are absolutely certain what is going to happen best, they are usually the most wrong... ;-) That said, I'm much more confident about next season, and think we have a chance of finishig higher than we have done for what seems like eternity. I'm optitmitic we'll spend more time in the top half than bottom, unless a calamity like shez leaving again hits us.
