NewBlue
Can anybody explain why our 6"3 attacker was taking set-pieces? There surely must be a small bloke who can whip a ball in, given Klok and Law came close with free-kicks

NewBlue
He is the best at it? Not very good at heading? I would imagine just having multiple 6"+ people in the box gives you an enormous psychological advantage at set-plays. I thought Law was the expert... deyres42
I don't think it has to be a given that the big lad has to be good at heading the ball.
peanuts
I don't think it has to be a given that the big lad has to be good at heading the ball. ian ormanroyde was case in ponit 6'7" in his stoking feet 5'.2" jumping for a header
losesome
I watched them training on Friday and they spent an hour doing defensive wall set ups with Lee Croft and a couple of others taking free kicks. All bar one hit the wall . Maybe he's the only one capable of getting them over the wall !!!!!!!!!!! deyres42
I remember Paul Beavers, barely lifted his feet off the ground, just a lazy stereotype to say the big lad should be good in the air.

Probably more lazy for a lad that tall to not lift his feet off the ground. The advantage can be psychological. What if they stick one of their tallest men on Banks and leave a short man to deal with one of our better headers of the ball? We have height. Utilise it. Banks is 6'3 so he should be in net, right?
