BP1960
Because the format has resulted in several totally pointless penalty shoot outs. Not quite pointless Dave, they are worth one point to the winner. Edited November 9, 2016 by BP1960
mcfluff1985
Not quite pointless Dave, they are worth one point to the winner. When both teams fates are already decided before the shootout then it's pontless
oafc1955
Robinsons getting all giddy, From tonight's Chron........ "We have scored 10 goals in eight games now and that's a pleasing aspect." Apart from the 2 against Scunthorpe that includes 2 against a lower division side and 2 more against an u-23 side. Although a slight improvement its not exactly something to get too excited about!!! Edited November 9, 2016 by oafc1955

That, plus 1.25 goals a game is hardly amazing stuff. It's still below average.

Dave_Og
Because the format has resulted in several totally pointless penalty shoot outs. Many group format competitions end with pointless matches. Part of the plan here was to give those promising young players some competitive penalty taking experience

How is having experience of taking a penalty in a shoot out that doesn't matter if you win or not in front of 400 people going to help anyone? Ever? NewBlue
Our keeper took the third penalty. Competitive is probably the wrong word...
Guest nonaenever
Went - a surreal experience - competition has to be scrapped - but then again you could argue the prize money alone would be v good for us if we manage to progress further. Think the prize money situation is a bit daft too - we won the game last night on penalties - so surely we should get the £10k - but someone has mentioned on here £5k each (presumably cos a draw in 90 mins) - all a bit hard to fathom the logic of really. BP1960
Cheltenham Wolves u 21 Bradford C. Carlisle Doncaster Rochdale Scunthorpe Walsall. The only one that would possibly draw a crowd of over 1,000 would be Bradford.
GlossopLatic
It must be my fault for not thinking deeply enough about this but we are in a competition and we have progressed to the next round. Is that a problem? Not aslong as we rest our key players for it, so Peter Clarke should be rested for this and we can give Crofty a game and perhaps some of the youngsters the likes of Glakin for example, it will be nice introduction for them. At the end of the day it should be viewed as the 3rd priority.
