underdog
Just in case anyone missed Jorvik announcement on another thread We are pleased to announce that the launch of the Oldham Athletic Former Players Association will take place on Thursday 27th October at the Oldham Event Centre and there are 80 tickets available for fans to attend the event. The event begins at 7pm and will feature guest speakers including Joe Royle, Bernard Halford and Les Chapman. The evening includes a curry meal prepared by the chefs at the OEC, and there will be players from the 1960s all the way through to more recent years. At least 20 former players will be in attendance, well announce attendees over the coming weeks. Tickets for the night are £25 with places limited. Details of how to purchase tickets will be announced on Monday 10th October. Monies raised from the tickets/night will be going to the Oldham Athletic Former Players Association with the aim of creating a charitable organisation which awards funds to fan and community initiatives in Oldham. The Oldham Athletic Former Players Association is an idea from Trust Oldham. We all have our own heroes we grew up watching and they all have a special place in our hearts even years later. It is an important part of our identity that we continue to acknowledge the efforts of our former players and give them a permanent home at our club. The association will be administrated by former players and will first and foremost create opportunities for players to get back in touch with former teammates and be involved with the club and fans. We are hoping the creation of the Former Players Association will help create a lasting bond and give them the opportunity to be involved in the club and with all the generations of fans. yarddog73
Any news or updates on, 1) Scoreboard situation and a progress report 2) Is Playershare still alive and kicking, not heard the manager talk about it yet and Rhys Murphy who was a beneficiary of the scheme has left the club so what's the plan going forward. They are still liaising with suppliers etc about the scoreboard. It will be happening, the funds are ringfenced. Playershare is still going as normal, nothing has changed with it. There's nothing that can be done at the moment really due to the transfer window being shut. Robbo may approach the committee for funds when he's in a position to sign someone.
