Chesterfield was an important game not to lose, given they're part of the relegation battle themselves. It's obviously disappointing to drop a point with the last kick at MK but most would have been happy to get two points from these two away games and we've gone one better than that. Things look a :censored:load better than they did before Shez's arrival.

I think a lot of people were looking at the point last night taking us out of the bottom four. It'd have been nice, but it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

We need 6 or 7 wins to keep us up and I'm sure that's the way Shez is looking at it again this year.

things look better than they did before Saturday. As has been said anything from last night would have been a bonus. 7 points from the next 3 games now is essential. Although teams at the top have faltered a bit recently our last 7 games look really tough.

Bottom line is that Shez put on Croft - a seasoned professional - in the last few minutes because that was what the game needed, a cool experienced player rather than a nervous youngster.

Croft, by all accounts should have smashed the ball into the proverbial row Z

But also, as Shez mentions in the post match interview, they should have closed down the ball before it came in towards the box. Tired bodies making tired decisions for sure but this is exactly what they mean by being mentally tough. Even if your body is on its last legs your mind should still have you making the right decisions.

The Croft dithering was just before the throw in, he had the ball at his feet, facing upfield and instead of launching it into their half, took another touch and put himself under pressure, hence the throw from halfway in our half. We had endured about 2-3 mins pressure leading up to that point and - at the time - you felt if he just smashed it deep into their half the ref would've just blown.

You can see on the highlight shez shouting and telling a player to come to the ball and stop the cross. Think it was Flynn but. It 100%.

Happened against Bradford too when we failed to close down and a player had acres of room to fire in a cross which Vincente scored from.

Whilst not pretty, restricting MK to only one shot on target in the game is probably a measure of a successful away game tactic against a better side. Would we have faired any better in the end if we'd have tried to win the game?

Shame that the one went in.

Winning at home and anything away is a bonus is all well and good when we have a good home record, but we don't. It would have been a bonus point if we'd have held on, one that not many would have predicted, but still feels like one lost due to manner of it.

Watched the goal, Shez pointing at Holloway to close down the throw in, although to be fair he was covering another player, but O'Neill was stood around marking no one when Maynard was in acres of room for the strike on goal.
