Latics and England
That is great news. Being a member will give the Trust more credibility and potentially more influence. I was always uncomfortable that it was neither a member of FSF or Supporters Direct.

I was always uncomfortable that it was neither a member of FSF or Supporters Direct. We did want to be members of SD but they don't accept members who are Limited Companies. They are also going through some issues at the moment.

underdog
Would of thought the trust would of already been members. Good work and well done anyway Our status is unique as a LTD company so we didn't fit the memberships requirements until now.
ghostofcecere
Sorry for my ignorance, but what are the advantages of being affiliate members of the FSF?
underdog
Sorry for my ignorance, but what are the advantages of being affiliate members of the FSF? I don't know the inns and outs myself...but below is from their own website. The Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) is the democratic organisation representing the rights of fans and arguing the views of football supporters in England and Wales. The FSF is totally free to join as well so the question is, if you’re not a member, why not? INDIVIDUALS: Join the FSF for free here... FANS' GROUPS: Download our join form... Download the FSF Annual Review 2016... Strength comes in number and you’ll be joining more than 500,000 of your fellow fans in the fight for safe standing, lower ticket prices and the protection of our clubs. Our members are made up of individual fans and members of local supporters’ organisations throughout the professional structure and many more from further down the football pyramid. The Safe Standing Campaign, Twenty's Plenty for Away Tickets and Watching Football Is Not A Crime! are examples of ongoing campaigns which the FSF leads. Hopefully they’ll prove to be as successful as previous campaigns like No To Gam£ 39 which helped kill off the Premier League’s widely-hated idea of a 39th game to be held on foreign fields. The FSF’s reach stretches way beyond these shores too. The boys and girls from the FSF’s Fans’ Embassies help supporters of England and Wales by offering advice to those following their nation abroad. This includes the ever-excellent Free Lions fanzine for every England away game while the team at FSF Cymru produce their own invaluable digital resource for the Dragons. Of course there’s a huge range of issues which can affect fans in the modern era. From fans who find themselves in a spot of bother with police or stewards (see Watching Football Is Not A Crime!) to queries and complaints relating to “consumer” issues such as ticketing, the FSF is here to help. If there’s something not right, email: info@fsf.org.uk. Think the FSF is missing a trick? If you think the FSF is missing a trick when it comes to campaigning get involved, make your argument via the FSF AGM, your local division, or the relevant FSF member - email info@fsf.org.uk or call 0330 44 000 44 to find out who that is. If you present a strong enough case your suggestion can happen, as past examples show. Sitting on the sidelines complaining that the FSF should “do something” isn’t enough - the FSF is a voluntary organisation and is only as good as its members. If you have an idea, get involved. All Party Parliamentary Football Supporters Group The Football Supporters’ Federation is secretariat to the All Party Parliamentary Football Supporters Group. The cross-party group is chaired by Ian Mearns MP, a season ticket holder at St James’ Park, and aims to strengthen the voice of football fans in Parliament. Partners The FSF works in close collaboration with our friends at Supporters Direct and Level Playing Field (previously known as the National Association of Disabled Supporters). FSF Chair Malcolm Clarke sits on the FA Council as the fans’ representative (on behalf of the FSF and Supporters Direct). The FSF also has good relations with other campaigning organisations such as Kick It Out, Liberty and Show Racism The Red Card. The FSF is also a founding member of the European-wide representative supporters’ organisation Football Supporters Europe. Officially recognised by UEFA, FSE has been running since 2008, and has held annual congresses in London, Hamburg, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Istanbul. The FSF is represented on the FSE’s committee by Chief Executive Kevin Miles. - See more at: http://www.fsf.org.uk/about-us/#sthash.nV5r3x2y.dpuf
adamoafc
Seems like we are putting our efforts in the wrong areas. Doesn't seem to 'benefit' clubs a great deal. The fact it has taken us so long this season and we still haven't set up the emails to go out to trust members. Surely another ex player night is due for the end of the season? Surely some real fundraising events to earn some cash for our scoreboard total? Ex players vs fans at BP bid to play? Surely a couple of thousand pounds could be raised for that! Plenty of things could be being planned so fans have time to either save for them or organise time for them. IMO FSF is good but to me I find often or not they big themselves up and make out to have done more than they actually have.
