Boys in Blue
Always got the impression that Kean didn't really love football. Seemed to go through the motions but he'd made his breakthrough at Championship (maybe Prem level?) so people better qualified than me saw something in him. He was average in that loan spell but might be in a better frame of mind now.
GlossopLatic
It did seem to go wrong for Kean about the time Johnson left he did make a crucial save on a 1 on 1 in the Swindon game I remember at that point he seemed alright. At home to Barnsley the day Johnson returned, he was pretty poor we conceded 3 from set pieces that day I think he dropped the first one at the strikers feet. johnafoafc
Kean started off quite solidly but suffered a massive confidence loss midway through his spell here. As mentioned, coincidentally when LJ left. The same could be said for several players. Coleman replaced him during the MK game and couldn't be dislodged after that. I trust Shez to get some consistency out of him if it's us that have made the bid.

We lost 7 of the 11 games he played in and got better when Coleman (a rookie at that stage) replaced him. To put those stats into context, we only lost 5 of the 33 games prior to Kean coming in with a similar defence but Rachubka in goal who wasn't that great either. Kean falls into the same bracket as Dean Brill and Ben Amos. The perfect physical builds to be great 'keepers, but for one reason or another proved to be pretty shit. I hope we don't sign him. Simpo
A Wolves fan on twitter has just mentioned there's a rumour of Harry Burgoyne coming to us on loan. Played 7 times for WWFC last season, including a 2-1 win at Anfield in the FA Cup. Seems highly rated, and has trained with England U21s. BP1960
According to Alan Nixon in the Sun the keeper could be Sunderland's Max Stryjek the Polish U21 international who played in the Euros. He says we are also after experienced midfielder John Welsh on loan from Preston. Edited July 30, 2017 by BP1960

Welsh would certainly add more power and strength to the midfield. Him, Green and/or Fane in centre midfield with Clarke, Gerrard and/or Wilson at the back? Not a defensive unit that teams would get a lot of joy from. He's also a Football Manager legend from years back which means a lot obviously . BP1960
A bit concerning Welsh has been out for 8 months with a calf injury and Gardner's injury seems to be dragging on. Edited July 30, 2017 by BP1960

Sounds as though Stryjek isn't far off their 1st team either way which is promising.

Which is really the logical step. Think the strange part was giving Dimi a new contract at 38, when they had a 24 year old, home-grown keeper, who has had two impressive loan seasons in a row. Plus the fact that Monk plays a lot of younger players would seem to help Ripley.

I look at that midfield and think where is the creativity. I'm afraid that if we're looking at a reliance on Gardner and Banks to be our only real creative outlets we're going to struggle massively in terms of goals once again. We're also going to be painfully slow as a side if we get rid of McLaughlin.

Flynn should be a greater creative influence for us playing football in a Shez side rather than whatever the fuck that was under Robbo. And Fawns might well have a part to play. Hunt, Dummigan, Obadeyi, Duffus all have pace and Green and Fane can do a lot of running. The more pace the better, always, but is it all that necessary the way Holloway & Davies will hold the ball up and knock it down/link up play? Cuteness and running on from midfield could be more what's needed.
