When the throw was taken on the right side of the pitch, Oztumer was stood 2yards from the thrower. He runs off and Fane follows him towards the box. 5seconds later Oztumer is the furthest player on the left side of the penalty box unmarked tapping in from 2yards out.

this is worse than Robinson

From what I saw in that 2nd half, this does not look like a team that's playing for each other to me.

We must also have the worst central midfield in the history of League One - quite baffling when you have a manager that was a midfield gem.

Unless we address midfield quickly, we are just going to see a repeat of the last few seasons. Only this year, we probably won't have the miracle survival.

Agreed I had to watch it again to make sure it was him who popped up to finish it, outrageous really. He looked a cracking player though.

Fane and hunt(??) where marking him at the throw in and I thought Fane should be in the box being such a big fella

looks like they both left him to just run roger palmer like into the box

Wilson (gk) was definitely at fault with the first, should have got the cross and could have done better with the shot

Keeper - flaps in the air

Gerrard - keeps getting skinned.

Clarke - not infallible.

Hunt - doesn't get forward that much.

Banks - watches games go by.

Fane - so limited.

Fawns - give him half a season and his positivity and forward thinking will have been replaced by sideways and backwards passing and a loss of confidence.

Davies - will only score penalties.

Holloway - looks a shadow of previous seasons, his touch and close control lets him down.

how hard is it to find two midfielders who can get around the pitch and also be comfortable on the ball.

we have no midfield so the aging defence is always under pressure. The defence actually has that little confidence in the midfield that they drop very deep which creates even more space for the opposition midfielders to run into.

Our strikers are forever feeding off scraps.

We hoped for a good start...we haven't had one.....a reasonable start would have been OK...we haven't had that either.

Two league defeats and a cup exit in 7 days.

All the optimism of a new season has well and truly evaporated in one fu***** week!!!

Try a few more round pegs in square holes, failing that get the clipboard out.

You may have hit the nail on the head, one change from last season is the arm waving Tommy Wright for the clipboarding Baraclough. I'm converted to the clipboard now.

Im looking on the positive side, it surely can only get better.

Played very deep with two banks, no real pressure on the ball, Fane picks and chooses when to press which is fine but he does it alone. We let cross after cross come into the box and again no pressure on the crosser.

To me it seemed we couldnt string passes together and no one wanted the ball.  If we are going to try and play of Holloway with long balls he needs to win 50/50s and midfiled the second balls.    Very rarely we passed to feet.  Walsall were playing from thechalf way line and walked out with possession at times.  We launched it!!

Think Walsall more than deserved to win and could of been 3-4 on another day for them.
