Stainrod
Out of the area wasn't he? Would have been sent off. Poor positioning.
jorvik_latic
Er, save it? How? It was too high for his chest and he couldn't use his hands. He should have been in his area earlier though...

Surely, once he found himself back in his area, with a ball that needed to be saved, he should have done so, irrespective of whether it was a back pass or not? I wouldn't have been best pleased about being put in that position though.

IIRC if the goalkeeper deliberately handles a back pass (inside his area) to stop a certain goal an indirect free kick should be awarded but the goalkeeper should not be booked or sent off. Andyt84
Yes but it loomed like he was out of the area so would have been a red anyway

If a back pass is that bad that its going over the keepers head, then it should be considered stopping a goal, nevermind a goal scoring opportunity. Some strange rules still that the FA should have sorted out ages ago. Presumed this was a rule since its common sense, but forgot the FA severely lack it. Law 12 I believe.

He couldn't have meant it as anything but a back pass, so that's how it must be dealt with

underdog
Why...? Because he seemed a decent bloke, always went around the ground clapping the fans win, lose or draw, chipped in with a couple of goals when we were desperate at Christmas time, got his head stitched too And I liked him so there.. Pretty sure Mark Hotte got his head stitched once aswell! His celebration patting the badge as if he loves Col U is pretty embarrassing.
