That's what a manager does when a player is playing badly. I do not get it on this forum. Just because a keeper has a decent season for us the previous year doesn't mean that he will have a brilliant season the next. Players can run into a period of bad form. Clough did not play him much at Burton and he didn't think he was the greatest keeper that has ever played for them. Its obvious he would have had more chances there if Clough had rated him because lets face it Bywater is not having the best of seasons for Burton either. Bobledgersheart
Heard he had a shouting match with the bench in his penultimate game, Rochdale ? So that may be of some significance.

He had a brilliant season for us and has only been decent at Bury(if that). So just what do you go off if you want to sign a player? If he had signed for us at the beginning of the season just about everybody would have been delighted. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't but you can only go off the previous form of the player. Think we all know that players form can change. So that may be of some significance. At Bury he was sat on the wall talking to Latics fans when they were warming up before the game and someone on their staff came running over to him, (I don't now if it was the assistant manager or not) and seemed to have a go at him, pointing at the goals. I had the impression he was telling him to ignore the fans and that he's a Bury player now and should be concentrating on his warm up. Ripley put both his hands on the guys shoulders and said something to him (probably telling him to chill out) and the staff member then went running back to the touchline. There is something seriously wrong behind the scenes at Bury with some bad apples in the dressing room. With that group of players they should be around the top six. It just proves that throwing money at the team doesn't always work out as Leyton Orient also found out. The players brought in have to gel and be of the right attitude. Take out Lee Clarke and the knock-on effect and you may have a case. They took too long to get rid of him and couldn't recover from the position they were in. Think Ryan Lowe might well have them in the equivalent of mid-table during his tenure
Magic Mikey
Danny Whittaker scores a great goal for Macc against George Elokobi's Leyton Orient. Could prove to be a title winner. Edit: Dean Brill in goal for Orient. Just made a good save. Edited April 14, 2018 by Magic Mikey Dean Brill
