twopukkapies
Terry and Jewell - sounds like a good double-act to me. Hopefully they will "carry-on" for quite some time and they can teach Byrne/Gardner some free kicks that curly-wurly into the top corner
al_bro
Paul Terry says in the interview that "It's an exciting time to be here". I hope he is referring to the takeover.

It’s still the most exciting it’s been in years, results and performance wise

I've ordered 4 goals for you at Southend and a packet of Viagra. If that doesn't raise your spirits nothing will. I've seen every game he's played at County and while he's got a bit of pace he's been wasteful with his final ball, I do like his attitude though as he keeps on plugging away. Southend was down as a defeat so anything else would be a bonus. Today was down as a home win so we are still 3 points behind the projection donny and argyle are down as draws so we could pull a few points back hopefully. So a draw and a win and we are almost back on track. Two wins and we are 1 point ahead. COYB.

I know too much time on my hands and I've normally lost interest by now. This year I went for 72 points as I thought the league is more even than last year. To get to that total I went for 20 wins 12 draws and 14 losses. I then had a punt at how that might look against the teams we had to play, and ended up with no points ( I.e. Lose home and away) - Wigan, Blackburn one point ( I.e. Draw home lose away) -Bradford, Peterborough, Scunthorpe , bury three points - Rotherham, Charlton, Oxford,Portsmouth,Southend, Walsall four points - Blackpool ,Fleetwood, Bristol R,MKD, Wimbledon, Rochdale , Plymouth, Doncaster six points- Northampton,Gillingham, Shrewsbury obviously my my assessment of bury and Shrewsbury has gone awry but if you look at how I've specced it out we are currently one point ahead of where we need to be to get 72 points. Happy days? Still a point ahead after MKD still 2 points behind par after Donny. Plymouth down as 1 point so an opportunity here.
Scapegoat
Has the Wellens honeymoon come to an abrupt end? 1 Point from 12 over Christmas, with 3 games against the teams near us (2 of them at home) has seen us slip back into the scrap. Performances have deteriorated as well over that period - we seem to have lost the zip and one/two touch play, and pressing style.

Dip at same time our three most influential players are either injured or leaving tomorrow...coincidence? I think that's more the reason than our manager. Remember Wellens hasn't yet had a transfer window to impose his own recruited personnel onto the team and tactics. This January will be very interested for a lot of reasons - who's leaving, who's joining, will the takeover deliver a boost to the transfer budget? I don't believe a play-off spot was ever in the mix anyway. The team needs to improve on the recent spate of 16th/17th finishes and a few places higher than that should be considered an improvement. The club has the possible investment scenario which could be a game changer...next season.
