Got to disagree with this. 2 out of the 3 decisions were correct. Yes VAR still taking too long but that will change over time. Controversy DOES make a game more interesting-mainly because it winds at least one set of fans up which creates a better atmosphere. This will be a long journey home for the Rochdale fans now-hope its a safe one.

whittles left foot
As I said this will change over time. For example a VAR review decision was put up on the big screen this time-it wasn't at the last game. What I would say it shows how often referees are correct. maddog
It works well in rugby league (don’t watch union) because refs are miked-up with a clear instruction about what precisely they want the VAR to provide a decision on. It all looked a bit ad hoc tonight - I don’t watch non-Latics games so not sure what it’s normally like (having said that, I watched tonight in a bar in Lanzarote without sound, so I might be wrong and there may have been a clear indication of what they were looking for). In fact, in rugby league, the ref being miked is just better all round - gives transparency and makes refs human instead of the untouchable fuckwits / primadonnas we have in football - even at our level. Not a Union fan at all but one of the top refs in that game, Nigel Owens, absolutly loves being miked up. Very clearly thinks he is the main attraction. It was hilarious as the decisions went against Spurs, btw the penalty one didnt involve any ears at all. If it contributes to VAR being scrapped it was well worth it and will leave at least half the crowd at BP still able to shout 'handball' when the ball hits a defenders thigh in their area from a cross. Hands on
VAR or how to make entertainment out of football. I think it entertained those of us watching on the telly but was a complete mystery to everyone at the game. VAR is there to get the decisions right and it spectacularly failed. Why can't they adopt the rugby systems. Rochdale now have only one Tuesday off until the end of the season. Hard work but I guess the cup run will be considered a fair swap for going back where they belong.

disjointed
I think Rochdale will get 3 points tonight, Wallsall are a bit hot and cold, although they are not out of danger by any stretch of the imagination.
oafc1955
Drags them back in it and would probably be the best result for us.....let’s face it if Rochdale finish above us we are almost certainly down.
mcfluff1985
Walsall were 2/1 to win tonight! Mid table v rock bottom and they're massive underdogs at home. Bookies must know something ha
Wardie
If I am being honest, I would not be adverse to 'Dale escaping the drop at the expense of Northampton or Wimbledon. Keeping Walsall in the mix makes things more interesting, provided the Latics do the business and keep getting the results.
oafc_lover
As much as I want both Dale and Bury to sink to their natural league and do it in embarrassing fashion....it would be crap next season with no Blackburn, Wigan, Dale or Bury.
