yarddog73
Looks like his self exile following the Bradford game where he ran riot has done him the world of good, no goals in six games and seven hours of football since his return, gone a bit Doyle on us after scoring nine in nine previous appearances. FB needs to tell him to pull his finger out, new contract or not with a Premiership club, performances like last night don't warrant a first team place, too easily dispossessed by the Rochdale, defenders. Not that he was on his own with Lang and O'Grady also weak. A few more with Missilou's attitude wouldn't go amiss. As with a lot of footballers coming back after injury, as well as the physical aspect there is a mental hurdle to overcome. We saw this with Eoin Doyle and we are seeing this now with Surridge. He doesn’t look as sharp as pre-injury and it is a slight concern.

Perhaps it just a case of him being unable to sustain his pre break form, which is perfectly understandable.

Possibly and yes totally understandable. By the same token, it may just take a goal to get him back on the right path. The worry is that Doyle is still struggling to regain his form. Hopefully Surridge does not go the same way
