Carling
Well honestly there were days during our exile out of the football league where I genuinely thought we'd never get to grace boundary park again. In fact at the point were Welling turned us over 2-1 on the day we said good bye to Johhny king I actually started to miss BP a little. But football is a funny old game and here we are planning another trip to BP but sadly not in league 1. Just wondering what's going on really lads as I had you as a decent chance of pushing for the automatics this season before Scholes and then expected a bit of a bounce with Scholes. Any signs that he can turn it around (still too early probs)?? Confident for Saturdays match? Have you missed us??? ps congrats on finally building a 4th stand but am going to miss our regular currency exchange scheme we use to have in the old away stand Edited March 13, 2019 by Carling
lookersstandandy
Our big issue(s)..... is an owner who demonstrates very little competence in the running of a Ltd Football company..... and the fact our land/only stand with the prospect of making any money is owned by people who have nothing to do with the football club. Without either significant change to the make up/ownership of either or both and/or significant improvement in the running of the club by our owner, the chance of us seeing on field success under the status quo are close to nil. We could have the world's greatest manager(s) and it would make very little difference. We are in very serious trouble and could well end up being beaten by Welling at home in the years to come, if indeed a club exists for us to support. BP1960
Been some terrific games against Tranmere at BP. Eric Nixon saving everyting thrown at him springs to mind. Not very confident about Saturday as you are sure to score at least one goal and hard to see us scoring more that that. No signs of any expected improvement from Scholes with our current bunch of misfits, the vast majority of whom won't be here next season. We all have to wait and see who comes in during the summer. Hopefully players who will battle for the cause all season. Good to see clubs like yours and Lincoln doing well in league 2 with players fit for the purpose. Rather put it this way, If O'Grady and Vera feature you know you've won the game.

Callum Lang is ok as is George Edmondson Daniel Iverson is good inbetween the sticks and Peter Clarke is a good leader still. In reality we are a sitting duck for you at the moment as our season has fizzled out completely and we are all looking to next season. Could be the easiest fixture you have had at BP for a few years. You've managed to get some forward momentum as a football club since your promotion something that we seem to find very elusive how did you find it? Also it appears you have actually started to take fans to away games these days, so am I right to assume we will get more than the usual
Carling
I think you'll find we took 1250 previously thank you very much. In all seriousness, our away fans have always been good vocal wise however the numbers that are now coming is impressive. I think it's got a lot to do with the chairmen & chairwoman in charge who've been working night and day to re-enter Tranmere as a community club. I really can't stress how great they've been..............do they have deep pockets (nope) but are they business minded and building the club in a sustainable way, then yeah 100%. It also helps that they've appointed Micky Mellon who just gets the club, the town and the fanbase. When we won promotion he acted like a supporter and was in the local pubs to the early hours. I personally just picked the man up and carried him around for a good couple of minutes screaming "thank you" down his ear. Anyway I believe we have pretty much sold out our initial allocation of 1,765 and there wil probs be a couple more hundred on the gate so hopefully a decent gate & atmosphere. OAFCinWolves
We have been tin pot for 20 years and now its caught up with us. As with life everyone wants stuff now and we've been starved of any success since 94 then when we get the slight chink we are on the up there is a mass euphoria and when it doesnt materialise there is a mass over reaction. The hope is killing our fans patients which sometime gives a really negative boundary park. The wrong people are getting the flack and expected to turn things round overnight. Failure is not in Paul Scholes DNA but hes not had the best of starts but hes not took over the best of teams my worry is I think we will lose possible the biggest positive we have had for a long time due to not being given the time either by chairman or fans. I believe there are some lucrative sponsorship deals in the wings when others run out on the back of PS appointment and believe now we see this season out and PS gets a 1st transfer window but I've a horrible feeling he may not be there come pre season. Which be a shame as all business need to ride someone else reputation from time to time Edited March 13, 2019 by OAFCinWolves

Interesting, so steady administration of a football club has seen them succeed this concept seems alien to our owner who believes that signing rejects from Athletico Kebab is somekind of formula for success. Ritchierich
Its probably the worst Oldham squad you will have ever seen and you should beat us comfortably and continue your promotion push......of course football doesn’t always work that way! Either way, well done on your season so far and good luck for the run in, shame we’re not going to be joining you
mcfluff1985
At least Ollie Banks doesn't play in our midfield anymore. BP1960 calls our current midfield powderpuff, could always be worse

Even so he’s still a fanny edit. Just seen above FOUR assists ?? Sign him up AL Edited March 13, 2019 by simplythemostimportantkick

Dick_Valentine
I’m away for the weekend and will miss this one. When I saw the fixtures I cursed a bit at the thought of missing this one, now I’m thinking what a lucky man I am. I think we’ll scrape a 2 nil defeat out of this. bluehobbit
WE are poor at the moment. Can't keep a clean sheet and powder puff in attack. While the games is fairly sedate we are usually OK but if a team ups the ante on us we don't react and eventually pressure builds and we concede. The game at Prenton Park started off a good run of form for us and with out a great save at 1-1 from your keeper we probably would have nicked it. A draw was about fair on the day. I'd shake hands on a draw now. I can't see us getting anything. Unless a bit of magic or we score from set pieces your two center half's should run the show. Scholes has persisted in played 1 up front but we don't really have the strikers for it. Callum Lang on loan from Wigan is best forward but he's one of those that's not bad as a winger or a striker - he needs a target man to play off and we only have O'Grady for that, he's done OK this season but he's slow and maybe time has caught up with him. The less said about Vera the better. The midfield can be tidy but it's lightweight and we aren't a big side physically. Our left winger is decent at making half a yard and getting a cross in but recently hasn't had much to aim form. The rest flatter to deceive but probably are not really good enough over the course of a season. A draw for us would be a decent result but i'm expecting us to get a hammering at some point with the way we are playing. Last weekends equalizer was awful allround just a punt up field and striker in acres of space but that's happened more than once this season. Scholes needs some wins and quickly - he has a few excuses at the minute but going into the summer of a poor run, what is it now? 1 win in 7 or 8 isn't good enough and could make players think twice about joining us in the summer. The fan base will be pushing for a promotion push next season - we may struggle to see it
