Unfortunately, he's currently an automatic picks until Wheater and Egert are fit. Which is a big worry...I'd like to see another CB brought in before Aug 31st. As for Vera, I presume he's being given a chance to get fit and show he's capable (has plenty to do to improve obviously.) I know he's most peoples favourite boo-boy and doesn't have the silky skills that once cult hero Ngoo had, but it's not hard to believe Banide wants to give him a few games before deciding to can him. Maybe he has already judging by his HT removal. I know most want to believe they're back picking the team but then Nepu would be playing if they were. I don’t where your coming from. I know your not stupid, or on the wind up. I think you genuinely believe what your saying Which is even more bizarre. IF he isn’t interfering, (we’ll have to agree to disagree there. ) Are you confident in our direction under AL? You don’t like people talking about AL in 17/18 because although he was here, you claim that was a mirage and It must of been Corney who paid for menig and Omrani and the rest that season. Flooding the squad with the #frenchlads had a massive impact on us going down IMO. So let’s talk about last season. 3 managers Finished 14th. What is acceptable to you this season, and do you honestly think we’ll achieve it under AL? I want to go up. I think we’ll finish in the bottom half again. Take away all the stuff that people say about him, the results and direction on his watch are only going one way. At what point does our slide start to alarm you? Hamer is a very good defender so don’t see how playing him at CB and Mills in his natural position of RB is any worse than playing Sefil. No. Waiting to see what squad we have, how 16 new additions fit in, hoping injuries to some key players this season clear up (Wheater, Egert). Keeping my powder dry. Not being led by agendas or hysteria. Of course I’m concerned. By all parties involved. I’m surprised by some of your posts, knowing you as I have previously. Hoping the Trust can shed some light on the books shortly and a couple of loans can improve matters. For a start.

We were looking a shout for the playoffs last season until AL, who doesn’t care about the fans (sic), appointed a guy who the fans were crying out for and who single handedly ended our season. This season...as it stands, we will be bottom half, I agree. Which would be very disappointing. But unlike most, I don’t think we are done for incomings. And we will be better off with Wheater and Egert on the pitch. Altho that does depend on Banide also. Jury is out on him and the season. Until 8-10 games have been played and the window shuts, we won’t know how things will pan out. So far, not so good. I’m not interested in excitedly predicting doom like we seem to have a lot doing lately. Edited August 12, 2019 by boundaryblue80

Scholes is single handedly responsible for ending what exactly? Our non-Scholes points per game would have seen us 11th over the season instead of 14th. Or another way of looking at it, if you take our points per game from the day he took over and stretched that til the end of the season we’d have finished 13th instead of 14th.

Then he sacked Bunn (not before sacking Rhodes) We can argue the toss about the quality of football, but we were up there. We never got near the top six after Bunn left. His decisions. His appointments. His club. Wether he’s a nice man is moot to extent, because if we were top of the league a lot of the noise would go away. But we’re not, and we don’t look like getting anywhere near it. We may sign a couple more granted, but then Banny looks lost to me. . . Another AL decision. Nobody is excitedly predicting doom for a laugh. It’s killing all of us. Hence why I quoted you earlier- You seem quite upbeat/hopeful about what’s on the pitch, and I can’t see where your getting your optimism. Suspect squad as it stands. Very Suspect manager. Divided club/fan base. None of it says club on the way back up.

I don't think the fans were crying out for Scholes, the majority were happy with the way Frankie was going about his job. Lemsagam pulled the trigger way too early, another decision which fucked our season.

OLDHAMADE
I was going to make the short drive over to Blackburn tomorrow night but can't face seeing us taken apart unceremoniously like a wounded animal because we can't compete. Saturday was bad enough but this could be off the scale
yarddog73
We will get beat easily, it could even get embarrassing I'd go for a 4 - 0 Blackburn win at around 16's, 3 - 0 at 9's and 5 - 0 at 40's are also tempting.

laticsrblue
I'm beginning to like Bamide (Surely the kiss of death) In his pre Blackburn interview on the OS, he's the most animated Latics "manager" I've ever seen.. I feel really sorry for the bloke. Mo will be having a big say in who makes the starting line up for sure.... and the squad Marco & Mo have presented him with so far is sh1te. I also think it’s noticeable Banny’s English is improving quickly. It puts Marco’s efforts over a longer period to shame. Assuming of course he isn’t putting it on for effect, such is his way. oafcshuck
I hope he starts Vera I reckon we might see the best out of him in a Premier League standard stadium, some players thrive on it and feel at home in these kind of stadiums and I think Urko is one of them. Huge game to kick start our season, whoever is picking the team better not make too many changes.

You are letting the fact he’s done nice things create biased opinions on his footballing ability which is naive from your point of view. We all have mates who are nice people but are shit at football. Vera the worst player in that team, the fans know it’s, the manager presumably knows it and his team mates know it.
