Diego_Sideburns
It really is a very sad day for all Latics' fans. At the age of 67 it was too soon for Bert to go, but at least his suffering was not prolonged. Condolences to his family. The least I can do it to post a link to the Chron's report of that Boxing Day record victory when Bert scored those famous six goals. Rest in peace Bert - you'll be able to renew your partnership with Bobby Johnstone. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1293/817217...4cab47674_b.jpg
mikebOAFC
Like many others on here I'm too young to have seen him play, but the fact I and others know so much about the guy just from hearsay and legend says a lot about the man. RIP Bert
Diego_Sideburns
RIP bert a genuin latics ledgend how about a " one bert lister " at the rose bowl played for both clubs didnt he ? He did play for both clubs and there should be a minute's applause for Bert at Spotland.

boundaryblue80
Very sad news. There are several past names linked with the Latics who you hear and read about and that I wish I'd seen....Bert Lister is one of them. Another Tic passes away. RIP Bert! Rocky_Latic
Suprisingly Bert Lister is one of the older generation of players way before my time i've heard more about than alot of the current crop of 'tics. Held in high regard by pretty much everyone of a certain age and above. Hopefully the club will pay him a nice tribute at the Wednesday friendly, or the Swansea game. OAFC_PROUD
A true Latics Legend, very sad news. My thoughts go to his family. R.I.P Bert.
Bristolatic
A very sad day, whether you saw Bert in his pomp or not. Keep the flying headers going in for the Heaven XI, Bert, 'cos Bobby Johnstone will be putting the crosses in for you. A minute's applause at the first home game please. R.I.P. and sincere condolences to all your family.
sloth
My heart sank when I saw this -and that's with the knowledge that he'd had a serious heart attack. If there's one thing certain in life - it's death. Bert was an absolute gem, and I'm not sure we all realised it when he left for Spotland. Least of all our manager Les McDowell who Bert (allegedly) had crossed swords with at Citeh. RIP Bert. Bloody Hell, I'm in tears.
