True Tic
We’ve been standing off players for months now, part and parcel of the strange backs to the wall tactics. Saturday should have shown signs at the very least, of a strong confident pressing performance with better players employing the “good habits “ the management speak of nowadays. yarddog73
Anyone been down to training this week and spotted any new faces? Surely we have a right back in the building? Or maybe Shelton will be played there in a back 4?
LightDN123
The lack of signings perhaps an indication Frank and Co are seeing how the next two games pan out before committing anymore funds to Usny? The lack of a right back is alarming and strange. You have to laugh, we are tying to sign a right back for the national league. Not a 20+ champions league striker. Can’t be that hard. frizzell54
Trouble is Unsworth is like a kid in a toy shop, buys shiny new toys and then doesn’t know what to do with them so they end up back in the box.

Guy Branston Pickle
Played at a good level but very injury prone, looks like he's played about 20 games in 3 years (although this is going off Wikipedia).

If he does well, then he'll leave us for Mansfield in January and, if he struggles with injury, then we can part ways. 6 months suits everyone... deyres42
Looks like he suffered broken ankle in February 2022 then just fell out of favour at Portsmouth.

Saying that can't be any worse than most of ours seemed last weekend.... Maybe he will be a right back.....not wing back. In a 4 3 3 tomorrow? Let's hope it works out for both parties, but does seem stop gap. He's not taken the No 2 shirt so maybe there is scope for another incoming further down the line, bearing in mind there is no transfer deadline until very late in the season. Fingers crossed it works out cos we all know RB/RWB is our problem area.
Ritchierich
It surely must suggest that we haven’t been able to land the RB we want (or at least we’re still trying to work on it) and this seems like a pure stop gap…it also suggests to me that Unsworth thought Sutton and Hobson could cover in the meantime but last Saturday’ debacle and outcry from the fans has forced the clubs hand. Either way, nice to have someone at right back who has played there before as his actual full time job
