Been watching series 2 and 3 of the Wrexham documentary.

Not a trendy thing to say, but I like Reynolds and Mcehlenney and the way they've done the documentary.  Hearing the individual stories of their players is interesting.  Everyone's always got something going on - worth remembering next time anyone's thinking of booing someone onto the pitch!

That said - lets have it right - Wrexham were an absolute tinpot club until all this kicked off.  Smaller then Latics on every level.

And part of the USP seems to be that their success story is "special".  Is it fuck - they've found good owners, been marketed well and spent ridiculously to get it.

I'd rip my eyes out of their sockets before watching anything to do with that pile of steaming shite

Wankers the lot of em and Wrexham will always be regarded as a tinpot club regardless of how high they climb

Never,

It has to be Reform for me this time and the way it's looking they could end up being the second party in this election.

I see Southgate had us all sweating unnecessarily with his inbuilt defending a narrow lead bullshit and that unwillingness to change it up top, so bloody predictable.

He got away with another there and 1-1 wouldn't have been an unfair result

Can't believe England have any expectations of winning a trophy, after watching that tonight.Worst team I've seen so far. Lucky win. Germany will destroy them if we get that far.

Despite our keeper making one save in the whole game. Relax, you're going to give yourself high blood pressure

Don't be ridiculous. Worst team so far? Absolute nonsense. I'll give you one that was worse - Serbia

They even had me fooled for about 30 minutes, looking like absolute world beaters, then reverting to type with the usual backs to the wall stuff all the way to the final whistle, as Kane dropped deeper and deeper.

Any attack minded manager would have brought on Watkins, Palmer or Toney to replace him and give Serbia a different kind of problem but numb nuts chose to keep his knackered, leggy mate on instead.

There's even some bragging going on from the Denmark camp now and who can blame them? Like most sides, if you roll your sleeves up and get at them, England more often than not, will crumble.

I can see it now, you sat there cool as a cucumber, whilst most would be bouncing off all four walls, even in the pubs after 10 pints

Exactly. We weren’t great going forward second half at all but apart from the odd long shot didn’t really look like conceding.

I thought the player interviews after the game were interesting, they were all relaxed, chirpy and happy with the result even though the interviewer and all the pundits were all focussing on the negatives.

It’s the first game. How often do winners have convincing wins on their first games?

Argentina 1-2 Saudi Arabia

Turkey 0-3 Italy

France 2-1 Australia

Portugal 1-1 Iceland

1 good result in the first game for the winners of the last 2 world cups and euros.

Defensively we were solid and that is the weakest area of the squad. Guehi had a really good game. Going forward we didn’t create enough and as good as Foden is in the premier league I’m starting to think he’s just not quite got it at the very top level.

You know we won ? The score line or how we play is redundant at this stage.

We were solid and restricted them to one chance. why anyone thinks Southgate will move away from a structured and controlled approach a when it’s worked so well for us baffles me. Typical over reaction to England, either positive or negative.

I was in my village pub, far more depressed to find out that it was closing than I could possibly have been at anything that could have happened on the pitch

Play a decent team we will get battered, Trippier ain't no left back and I can't believe we dont have a competent one in the whole of England. Stones and Guehi don't convince me, Foden was awful and Kane was last seen trying to get out of Milenkovic pocket, two best players Palmer and Gordon from the previous game didn't even get a sniff as he went with Gallagher and Bowen from the bench which I thought strange, awful to watch after the first twenty and as soon as they started dealing with Saka we had very little to offer.

Foden can't perform against big physical players, Southgate should have known how Serbia play and it needed a nippy striker against that lumbering centre back. I'd play a back 4, just Rice and Bellingham in central midfield, two wingers, and two strikers. Southgate will never do that though as he's too cautious.

Only Walter Winterbottom's England team has scored more goals per game than Southgate's.

I knew it would be the worst game so far but as long as those W's keep coming in then I will get my chance to conga out of the pub and along the street!!!

Ten pound bet we win all 3 ? You build in to tournaments you arsehole, it was a professional display. You’re the kind of guy that busts his nut in the waiting room of the Georgian aren’t you ?

The two best players from the game v Iceland?  That's damning with faint praise!  I'd suggest you find Martin Samuel's excellent column from The Times this morning for some perspective on Kane's performance.  If there is a better sports writer around at the moment I haven't come across them

Thought we did OK last night. They were a big, physical side and tried smashing our talisman, Bellingham but he showed he can handle those kind of tactics.

I expect a totally different match against Denmark and I also expect we'll dismantle at least one team this tournament given the firepower and pace that we have. He has to find a way of getting Foden into matches but we have to play him centrally rather than out wide.

I also expect our defence will struggle at times against more elite opposition such as Spain, France or Germany. Those matches will be all about us simply outscoring them.
