I get it he was the No 1 target but the fact it's broke down after months and weeks of chasing without a conceivable back up plan just shows we are being run by a bunch of amateurs, sorry if that sounds harsh but since the Rothwells came in a recurring theme is the constant shitshow our 'Recruitment department' creates, from bringing in absolute raffle winners on inflated contracts to allowing 12 month contract extensions to trigger it's just one thing after another. I don't blame the management team one but, it's inherent at the club and needs addressing because we are being took for fools. I posted yesterday about us hemorrhaging points and on the face of it you could argue that it was a bit of an hysterical reaction but this game is dictating by small margins and not having that key player in has cost us points. There's clearly money there yet all our efforts have gone on a man who'd already announced his retirement and another who we've been told from minute one of pre season is unavailable and his parent club are keen to keep him and we've ended up with nothing. Laughable really. It's not laughable though is it? I mean we are 1 player short from the ideal squad we've strengthened significantly in defence in midfield and in wide areas. We've not got the striker we wanted YET but we have our top scorer from last season now ready to go and should be able to complete 90 minutes today and another striker who can be hit and miss but can win us games. I'd rather we waited for the right player than panic buy a player who might not he a good fit for us. It's a minor dissapointment it's not laughable. Inspiral Carpets fans may enjoy spending a dull first half spotting some of that band's song/album titles which are concealed within the ramblings. Plus there's a photograph of the great Bernard Cribbins. As for the game itself, the majority of Alty supporters are hoping that Oldham have stipulated that Joe Nuttall is ineligible to play for us in this afternoon's encounter. To be fair to them they didn't miss it. It says a power failure between stations on their website but you'd think they be staying overnight in a hotel rather than putting faith in our crap trains on a day of a game....
