No pressing, playing deep, no passing, their keeper doing whatever he wants. Such a poor performance. Our movement in general today has been non existent. Lack of urgency in Midfield we have the numbers in there so we've no excuse. The wide men haven't been in the game either Norwood starved of service dolan had a great chance but apart from that he's been quiet. I assume the players will be getting a rocket right now. Really not a fan of Lundstrum Conlon and Gardner in the same Midfield. At some point we are going to have to see us put another man uptop. Big mikecis fully stripped so I guess he's ready to come on... But that needs to be a hell of alot better. yarddog73 Posted September 7 Share Posted September 7 This games almost got a pre season feel to it, we've created little and Southend even less yet we still trail 1-0, not even sure a Southend player has had a shot yet. Conlons turned in to Sheron overnight, backwards or hoof, Dolans done nothing other than the effort he's just had which he should have buried, Jez again a passenger. Probably need to sacrifice a centrehalf and push another man upfront, can't continue playing as flat as this and expect to get something. doctor evil Posted September 7 Share Posted September 7 Two very poor teams so far. We've come up against a half decent press and look out of ideas in how to beat it. Southend have looked just as inept when they're on the ball but once again a set piece has let us down. If we want to play out from the back we have to be better and braver. The space is in the middle. It's all been too safe and ponderous, inevitably resulting in us hoofing it to nobody. Improvement is needed. Big Mike for Dolan is MMs answer, questionable.....
