Did we play 4 at the back ?

Haven't seen today's match.

Ogle despite a so called DC was often backing up Caprice, Monthe less so with Kitching.

Pretty sure that's what we've been playing since the 2nd half against Southend. It's 3 at the back but the wide centre backs are pushed on playing like overlapping fullbacks and Kitching and Caprice effectively playing as wingers. When it's done properly we create overloads down the flanks.

Solid performance, by far the better side and, as I've said a few times now, the signs are there that, when we do click, we'll be a very good side.

Again we came steaming ouf of the traps but this time (like against Braintree) we got the early goal. We can't expect we'll get that all the time, so the boys need to learn to keep their concentration when the opposition eventually get a foothold in the game, as will happen.

A defining result maybe...

No.

We set up with the three again, Kitch and Caprice both dropped in at times but it was pretty much the same formation we've played all season, Uchegbulam played further forward on the right than Caprice and did okay when he replaced him.

Conlon and Gardner sat deeper with Lundstrum and Hammond the legs in behind Fondop, surprisingly when Norwood came on for Gardner we managed just fine with Lundstram and Hsmmond playing just a touch deeper.

It was the same formation, just that bit more desire and willingness to work for each other with the legs up the top of the pitch to start it off.

Hopefully MM sees that we need some legs in midfield, it's obvious to most of us. Conlon should be there as a Jack Byrne type of player, let someone else do the chasing down. We are solid enough at the back, the press higher up the pitch should be a given.

Amazing what happens when the tempo and work-rate is good.

Big improvement today, everyone working for each other was crucial as was Lundstrum further up the pitch pressing which is probably his main strength.

Could Hudson have done better for the goal?, I'm not going to plough in to him because it was a terrific strike but any keeper beat from 30 yards unsighted would be disappointed I suspect, he's been targeted now for his weaknesses a bit like Norman was, saying that he did everything else well today and it had little effect on the game given we immediately responded.

Ogle not quite at it today but thought Raglan other than the closing down for the goal and Monthe were outstanding.

Caprice and Kitching both involved and deserve to keep their places, Gardner had his best game for a while and had a really effective 40 before he was took out from behind. Conlon got himself forward that bit more and had a couple of sighters he may have done better with.

Hammond and Lundstrum worked tirelessly and set the foundation, pleased Lundstrum chipped in with his goal but more importantly his overall performance was as good as I've seen, I think he needs to play further up and with that drive and intensity.

Fondop worked hard for the team but still frustrates at times, he's poor with the basics yet can make something happen. Nice finish for the goal though.

Norwood and Garner will both benefit from the minutes.

All in all a good day at the office, we made our own luck today, could have scored more but I was impressed with the intensity and desire we played with and sustained right till the end, a great shift put in by everyone and that's all we can ask.

Means nothing if we draw 1:1 against Yeovil.Another win and we're right back up there.

Does anyone really care if he joins in, he is his own person.

Not really but it's something you don't like to see in a team game. As for Norwood himself I thought he made a decent contribution when he came on and can't be far away from starting.

You can be a team player without joining in the celebrations.
